Tillamook Recreation Advisory Committee (TRAC) Meeting

The second Tillamook Recreation Advisory Committee (TRAC) meeting of 2009 will be taking place on Thursday April 2 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at the Forest Grove Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) office (801 Gales Creek Road, Forest Grove, Oregon).

The TRAC meeting is open to the public and recreational users are encouraged to attend.  It is always great to have extra mountain bikers in the audience and there is usually time provided to address the committee with any recreation concerns related to the Tillamook State Forest.  The main discussion points for this meeting will be on the current ODF budget crisis.  I say crisis because there are scenarios being discussed that may eliminate much of the recreation staff.  This of course would be horrible for the recreational users of our state forest lands.  ODF recreation staff has re-submitted their ATV Grant Fund application to increase their request to offset the loss due to budget cuts.  If funded this grant will retain several of the ODF recreation staff members.

If you are new to the area, mountain biking, and/or looking to get more involved with the folks that manage the lands that you recreate on consider attending a TRAC meeting.
