Join PUMP on the first and most popular campout of 2009. This is one of the best trails in Oregon and keeps us coming back every year.
The ride is a 25 mile one way shuttle or a 50 mile out and back for the brave at heart. It starts out with some very enjoyable technical rock sections. This is followed by miles & miles & miles of great flowing single track.
What to bring:
- Camping gear for a weekend
- Swimsuits for a trip to Belnap Hot Springs
- Bike and Helmet
- Firewood
What to expect:
- A great Mountain Bike Ride
- Fun times around the campfire
- There are bathrooms and water but no showers.
How to find us:
- Paradise Campground: 4 miles east of the town of McKenzie Bridge.
- Google maps
- We will be in campsite #38 and will have a couple of others picked up.
On Friday we will meet up at campsite #38 at 9:00 PM to discuss the next days ride planning.

My youngest came home sick from daycare today!!! I'm out.
Hopefully, I can con Meagan into letting me out of the house to at least go watch the SuperD in Hood River tomorrow.
Have fun!

Family Friendly
The campout is family friendly. I would suggest not camping in the main site as we tend to be up late.
Ride Time Starts
Typically we start shuttles up at 8:00 and 9:00. There could be a 10:00 am also.
family friendly
Lots of family's have come down. The trail is beautiful for hiking and the blue pool and waterfalls are both hikeable from the campsite. May want to drive to the blue pool, thats a long hike. There is also belknap hotsprings and a couple other sites. Paradise is a great campground, very kid friendly. If your a strong rider, you could do the shuttle in 3 hours and spend the rest of the day with the family, they could also do an out and back as long as they wanted.

Re:Ride Time?
Depending on ride start time on Saturday I can either start a carpool going down early Saturday, or leave Friday night. Let me know if any of y'all without a ride wanna carpool. I am open to camp for the weekend, come back sometime on Sunday or just Friday to Saturday for the ride. Pretty flexible this weekend. Let me know if this would work for anyone.
Peace,
btw, got room for 3+ driver in the sub' or 2+ driver in the bus(1972)

Ride Time?
I might not make it down Friday night what time will the ride start Saturday morning?
what's the scoop?
I'd appreciate a little insight on the scene at previous MRT visits or NWTA camp outs in general..
How big of a gathering does this usally turn out to be? Do folks bring families to camp and hang out in and around the river? I'm debating on whether I should bring my family (wife + two toddler boys) or come alone.
Thanks,

matthew, I've only been
matthew,
I've only been to this event once, (and didn't camp, but was there for the day ride & some festivities) last year, and I would guess there were 20 to 30 riders. I believe everyone present was a rider. I don't believe there is any policy against bringing the family, but because it seemed to be an adult affair last year, if it were me I would try it solo. If it fits for your family there will be more camp-outs this year and into the future.
As I said, I've only been to this camp once. Hopefully others will speak up if I've mis-represented the intent or vibe of the camp/group.

Notify the Campground/Local Ranger that we're coming en masse
Could someone please notify the local campground and ranger that PUMP is coming en masse this weekend and that we could have 50+ people biking the trail on Saturday? I've felt a lot of frustration and annoyance from hikers and other bikers in the past and feel it could be reduced if they were to know in advance that we were going to be there that weekend.
Thanks,
Toni
