Trail Build/Camp/Ride at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

Super sized trail building, camping, and riding weekend!   If you've ever helped at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park to build the mountain biking singletrack, then this weekend is not to be missed.   We hope to be ready to open the upper trail loop to the public during this event.

Saturday - trail work party (placing trail signage? finishing work?) followed by celebration (CAKE!) back at conference center at Cabin Village.   CHECK-IN for trail work group at Welcome Center parking area by 9am.   We should be back at Cabin Village for Hot Dog BBQ/Cake by about 2pm (all are welcome whether having worked this day or a past volunteer build day).

Small group of people are camping Saturday night (fee is waived for volunteers working trail!) - most camp sites already reserved - but there's hike-in first come/first serve camping spots available (some plan to camp at hike-in area).

Sunday - group ride(s) for beginner and intermediate level riders lead by the trail builders who brought you the great new mountain biking only trail loop at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park!   See separate calendar event for the group ride details and please RSVP (if nobody RSVP's then we may cancel group ride).

For Saturday, bring work gloves, snack, and water.  Tools provided.

  16 confirmed thru

16 confirmed thru Facebook event and 60 down as "maybe".

Just thought you'd want to know there's not any cabins left andonly about a dozen sites (mix of tent and full sites).   We'll be getting some of the hike-in tent sites which are first come first "dibs" for those that indicate they plan to tent camp at hike-in site.   So let me know ASAP.  joer [at] nw-trail.org   For sites other than the hike-in ones you need to reserve for yourself -- http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_255.php

We will have a gathering at one of the meeting halls in the park after the build day - location to be disclosed to volunteers attending the build day - cuz that's how we roll.  ;)

(there's not many signing-up thru the event calendar here... but there's already 8 people marked as Attending plus 35 more as "maybe" thru the Facebook event!)

Everyone is on Facebook so it's just easier for people to RSVP that way instead of signing up for account here and all that.
