Riding, trail building, and good food....this is a continuation of the monthly winter work parties on the Stub Stewart mountain bike trails. These mtb-only trails are hand-built entirely by volunteers, so without your help they do not get completed!
We've crossed Genzer creek, gone up the hill and have 2 massive switchbacks nearly completed. We have about 1,000 feet of new flagline laid out and approved by park rangers, so now we need a good sized crew to help bench it out. There are few downed trees and good quality dirt so this section should move along quickly. After that, maybe another 2,000 feet and we will connect to the south ridgeline trail! Details and what to expect if you've never been out before:
Park and meet at 9am at the Clayhill horse parking/staging area, which is at the very end of the main road into Stub Stewart State Park. From there its about 2 miles to the work site, mostly on gravel and multiuse trails, so its strongly encouraged to bring a bike and ride in.
We have plenty of tools, but please bring a pair of work gloves. Also suggest rain gear, warm clothes, and work shoes/boots because it gets muddy. Also bring your own water.
Since its cold out there and a long way back to the vehicles, this year we are providing hot meals on site! But please give some advance notice so I know how much food to bring! You can either use the signup featuer on here, or just send me an email to let me know you are coming!

Hope to see you out there!
