This Community Events calendar includes both NWTA events and non-NWTA events from around region. For your convenience, NWTA events are highlighted in Green. If you know of a community event that you would like to include, please email email@example.com.
The Northwest Trail Alliance and the Oregon League are excited to continue our NWTA monthly youth rides! These rides are designed to provide a safe space for youth riders to meet and to develop confidence on the trails. These rides are free, but we ask that you register at least 24 hours in prior to ride. The NWTA Youth Rides will be happening monthly through the summer on July 7, August 4 & September 2.
Although not clinics, the NWTA youth rides will be led by coaches from the Oregon League and are open to youth of all riding abilities. The NWTA youth rides are generally for teen riders, however, younger children with mountain biking experience and who are comfortable riding without their parents are welcome to attend. Please note that because the NWTA youth rides are not clinics participants will have the best time if they have some cursory mountain biking experience.
Please bring a mechanically sound mountain bike, helmet, closed-toed shoes, water and snacks. Elbow and knee pads are recommended.
NWTA will host a corresponding ride for chauffeurs and advanced youth riders. Come ride with us!
The Oregon League was founded in 2017 as a non-profit (501(c)(3) Project League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). They facilitate the development of high school and middle school teams/clubs for grades 6-12 and provide the education, training, licensing, and insurance for coaches and volunteers. They also produce high-quality mountain bike events and races that emphasize the value of participation, camaraderie, positive sporting behavior, and well-being over competition.
The Northwest Trail Alliance is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. We are one of the Northwest’s leading mountain bike advocacy and trail stewardship groups and we are committed to making mountain biking more accessible and building the NW mountain biking community.
