Event description
Stub Stewart – Winter 2019 Trail Work Parties

Kick off the new year by giving a little back to the trails you enjoyed riding in 2018. And check off your new year’s resolution by getting in some good early-season cross-training to boot!

Winter season work parties at Stub will be focused on two main objectives. First, keep the trails in good riding shape through the wet, rainy season when they need the most TLC. Second, make some great improvements to the trails in advance of peak riding season later this year.

What to expect:
We will meet at the Stub Stewart Hilltop parking lot at 9:30am to sign waivers, and then proceed to drive back to the mountain bike area. From there, we will hike to the work site, where we will distribute tools and discuss the project, tool use, and trail work safety. Tools will be provided at the site.
We will do trail work, rain or shine, for approximately 4 hours, 9am-1pm. Dress for cold, wet weather but wear layers to shed while working. Work will wrap up between 2-2:30, and the group will hike back to their cars by 3pm.
Riders familiar with Stub Stewart can choose to bring their bikes and may ride back to the work site after checking in at Hilltop.

What to bring: Lunch, water, snacks, and work gloves. Bring your bike helmet to wear for head protection.

What to wear:
Sturdy work gloves (more than one pair is a good idea)
Long sleeved shirt, and layers for warmth
Rain jacket. Rain pants if you have them
Eye protection is recommended (cycling glasses, safety glasses, etc.)
A hard hat or your bike helmet
