Event description

There is a new movement to get more kids onto bikes and into nature in Oregon! We are building an Oregon Youth Mountain Biking racing and riding program for children and youth, starting with an Oregon NICA racing league bid (National Interscholastic Cycling Association). We are the only western state without a youth-specific racing league, and teams, coaches, venues, volunteers, leaders and supporters are needed to make this a success.

Over the past few weeks mountain bike supporters in Hood River, Bend, Oakridge and Eugene/Corvallis met to begin getting more kids on bikes. Now we are hosting a Portland-region meeting, to be held on Monday, March 20, 6-7:30pm, at Velo Cult. We will show part of the inspirational Singletrack High movie, discuss the NICA racing league bid, and 2017 youth mtb events and goals.
