Event description

Join us! Every Saturday from November 23 through March 28, the trail crew at Rocky Point is inviting a small group of volunteers to help build and maintain the future of Rocky Point. If you already love this trail system or you just love the idea of trails close to home and want to be a part of what Rocky Point will be, this is the place to be!

Rocky Point has about 20 miles of trails, accessible year-round, and all of them are seeing a lot more tires in the past several months. That means the trail fairies that have been keeping this system going for the past 20+ years need your help keeping it in good shape.

This is NOT a big work party with all free food, coffee, beer, and swag. This is DIY, the way Rocky Point has always been – small groups of volunteers, putting their backs into these trails for no other reason than LOVE.

Where: Mid-gate: 1.6 miles up Rocky Point Road, on the left hand side.

When: EVERY SATURDAY, meet at 9 am, safety talk at 9:15, work begins at 9:30, done by 2.

Wear: Long pants (no shorts), sturdy boots, work gloves (leather is best – there’s lots of blackberries out there), light long-sleeved shirt, rain gear and other layers as appropriate for the weather, eye protection, hard hat or bike helmet.

Bring: A backpack with enough food and water to get you through, any extra layers you may want. Some tools will be available. Crew leaders will email you a day or two before to let you know what tools would be best to bring if you have them.

What (you’ll be working on): Small projects that will vary week-to-week depending on the needs of the trail system. It could be tread maintenance and drainage, re-routes of existing trail, or clearing whole new trail. You will get an email a day or two before the work day explaining what you’ll be working, what to expect for difficulty, and what to bring.

Sign up with link provided below. Space is limited so please only sign up for those days that you can commit to. But please do sign up for as many days as you can commit to.
