Event description

Come out & join us to get the trails ready for the busy summer riding season. After the work is done stay for the food, imbibe & enjoy our accomplishments with NWTA long time supporter Fat Tire Farm.

We are also going to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Johnny Royale Trail with the BLM.

Who: Newbies and non-members are welcome; tools are provided. Hardy kids who don’t mind potentially bad weather are invited as we often have a good group of them and will find some tasks for them to work on together.

When: 9:00am – 2:00pm Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Please RSVP with the link provided below. This is critical to our planning process . Please note that trail work days at Sandy Ridge often hit our maximum capacity. If this is a event you plan to participate in, do not wait to register or you may miss out.

Where: Meet at the Sandy Ridge Trailhead Parking lot.

What to expect: We will meet at the parking lot at 9:00am, sign waivers, break up into smaller groups and hand out tools for the various maintenance areas identified and be heading out to start working by 9:30. Groups will carpool up to their assigned area with tools. You should expect to work rain or shine for approximately 4 hours. Weather can be variable this time of year so check the forecast and dress accordingly.

A big thanks to Fat Tire Farm who will be providing event support, shuttles & raffle prizes. Beer is generously provided by Mt. Tabor Brewing

What to bring: Lunch (if sandwiches are not your jam), plenty of water, snacks, and any other clothing/protection you’d want when doing landscaping type work (digging, raking, cutting/sawing, etc). Tools are provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you’ve got a favorite.

What to wear:

  • Long Pants (please no shorts)
  • Boots
  • Sturdy work gloves (more than one pair is a good idea)
  • A light, long sleeved shirt
  • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather
  • Eye protection is recommended (eyeglasses, safety glasses, etc.)
  • A hard hat or your bike helmet if you don’t have one
