Event description

Wednesday May 22nd, Sandy Ridge Trail Work

Spring is finally here & it’s time to get back the trails back in shape after the late winter snowfall. We’ll be repairing tread, filling holes, clearing drains, raking off fallen leaves, and whatever else needs doing to get the trails ready to ride!

Work Party Logistics:

Who: Newbies and non-members are welcome; tools are provided. Hardy kids who don’t mind potentially bad weather are invited as we often have a good group of them and will find some tasks for them to work on together.

When: 9:00am – 2:00pm Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019

Where: Meet at the Sandy Ridge Trailhead Parking lot. https://goo.gl/maps/FuhqPAy87NK2

What to expect: We will meet at the parking lot at 9:00am, sign waivers, break up into smaller groups and hand out tools for the various maintenance areas identified and be heading out to start working by 9:30. Groups will carpool up to their assigned area with tools. You should expect to work rain or shine for approximately 4 hours. Weather can be variable this time of year so check the forecast and dress accordingly.

What to bring: Water, snacks & lunch. Also any other clothing/protection you’d want when doing landscaping type work (digging, raking, cutting/sawing, etc). Tools are provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you’ve got a favorite.

What to wear:

  • Boots
  • Sturdy work gloves (more than one pair is a good idea)
  • A light, long sleeved shirt
  • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather
  • Eye protection is recommended (eye glasses, safety glasses, etc.)
  • A hard hat or your bike helmet if you don’t have one
