Event description

The Trailkeepers of Oregon needs some help and is asking for Northwest Trail Alliance volunteers to join them for construction work on shared-use trail project!   The State Park has made arrangements to borrow the NWTA Single Track digging machine to be used during part of this construction work.   Hand tool crews are also needed.  All skill levels welcome.

You can come for 1 day or help all 3 days

Join TKO at Stub Stewart State Park to build a new trail to replace one that was wiped out by last winter’s extremely wet weather.

From  Friday, June 2 through Sunday, June 4, TKO will be replacing a good part of the Timberbeast Trail, a combined hike/bike/horse trail that connects the park with the Banks-Vernonia Trail.

Join us for any or all of the days – the more you can help the better, but any help is appreciated!

Camping is available near the work site (close to the welcome center) and at the horse camp.

Please sign up below, or email volunteers@trailkeepersoforegon.org for more information.

Crew leader on this project will be Steve Kruger with Trailkeepers.  He was original lead park ranger at Stub Stewart State Park during the initial park opening in 2007 and was instrumental in involving Northwest Trail Alliance thru adopt-a-park program to design, build, and maintain the mountain biking area of the park.  Volunteering for this event would certainly help show Respect as a trail ambassador...  Without Steve, there may not have been any mountain biking trails at Stub.
