Event description

This event has been CANCELLED. Please feel free to email volunteer@nw-trail.org with any questions.

This work party is for anyone that identifies as Women, Transgender, Femme, Queer and/or Non-Binary.

For this event WTF Bikexplorers is partnering with our friends NW Trail Sisters of Northwest Trail Alliance. NWTA is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization based in Portland, OR. They are one of the NW’s leading mountain bike advocacy & trail stewardship groups.

Love mountain biking, bike camping or trail running at Stub Stewart? These trails are located right near the second annual WTF Bikexplorers Summit happening from August 15-18, 2019. WTF Bikexplorers support, celebrate, and connect Women, Trans, Femme, Non-binary, and Genderqueer cyclists who use their bicycles to explore.

Part of being a Bikexplorer is also contributing a portion of your time towards building and maintaining the trails that you ride. Experience the connection of “shredthepatriarchy” and doing so with your fellow Bikexplorers in a fun, encouraging environment.

About NWTA:

Created in 1988 as a grassroots club of local riders, focused on maintaining bike access to Forest Park – Portland’s renown urban park , they have grown into a regional advocacy group, stewarding trails & advocating for trail access across a wide radius around Portland; from within the city limits of Portland, to the southern foothills of Mt. St Helens, to the western slopes of Mount Hood, to Tillamook State Forest & Scappoose. They also partner with Oregon State Parks to build & maintain the mountain bike trails at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park.

No experience necessary & training will be provided. Tools will be available but feel free to bring your favorite trail tool of choice.

After the work party will gather at the Hilltop Day Use area for some food, libations & celebrate our accomplishments.
