Scappoose and Private Forest Land Rules
Please read the attached letter for information on Rocky Point Road and the Scappoose riding area. The rules that Longview Timberlands outline are straight forward and make sense. We'll need to follow them if we want to continue to use this great riding area they also include all the lands owned or managed by Longview Timberlands/Longview Fibre in Oregon and SW Washington.

Galby
Scooter,
You are absolutely right! I went to college in Bellingham and rode Galby for 4 years. It is a amazing place. The mountain bikers had to give up some trails at first and the limber company did do some logging that took out some trail at first, but since then they were able create a really great relationship with the land managers.
A couple things that led to the good relationship is that Trillium is based in Bellingham, the President of the company is an avid mountain biker and the WHIMPS had good support from the local mountain bike community including from freeriders and local companies such as Kona. I think it is important that the mountain bikers work together to create trails to ride. Before the agreement in B'ham you had a similar situation as here where you had unauthorized trails being built with purely built stunts. It wasn't until after the Freerider joined together with WHIMPS which at the time was a primarily an XC group, that progress was really made.
