Fork steer tube length
I'm considering buying a fork with a 7-3/16" steer tube length for a frame (probably 16 or 17") that has a 4-3/8" head tube. Without yet knowing what the combined head tube/headset/stem stack length will be, is it possible to know if 7-3/16" of steer tube would be a sufficient length to work with?

Sounds like after you consider the height of the frame you'd have ~ 3" left over. My guess is that it's probably enough to make it work, but if you wanted to be sure you should pull together the exact headset, stem & frame that you're going to be using & measure those out before you buy it. The stack height is different on different stems & headsets, so it'd be hard to say without knowing all the info.

Thanks. Someone else bought the fork, but your info helps me as I continue to shop.
