2009 Tour De Fat Parade and Party, by New Belgium Brewing

yes, it's coming up soon, so start training for the wild and wacky Tour De Fat! New Belgium donates 100% of the proceeds from the parade donations AND 20% of the t-shirt/merchandise sales to NWTA. And it's the voluteers that make all this happen.

Contact me at rwleleven@msn.com if you would like to volunteer. Folks needed from 9 am to 5 pm, for parade registration, parade marshalls, t-shirt booth sales, set-up/breakdown of the event: pretty much anything they will need to get the party started, rolling along the route, and finishing it all up. FREE BEER for the volunteers, did I mention that yet? Now I know I got your attention.......

This free event is open to all, cruiser bikes not necessary, but hey, who wants to ride anything other than a cool cruiser with a ringy bell like everyone else? Costumes encouraged, with funky, free attire available at the event.

I hope to see you there and help the NWTA with their bank account! We've made over $1000 some years. Lets see if we can top that!

Group Ride to the Freedom Riders flick this Thursday

From Michael Craft Of New Belgium Brewing's 'Tour De Fat' event:

"Let’s Ride:  The Team Wonderbike Bicycle Ride of Destiny.  On Thursday night (the 13th of August) lets all meet North of the Hawthorne Bridge in Waterfront Park (the site of this Saturday's Tour de Fat), at the Salmon Street fountain for a 6pm departure and have ourselves a bike ride.  We will cruise through your streets and have a real good time, we will make new friends and chat with them, we will finish at Clinton Street Theatre (2522 SE Clinton Street) for the Freedom Riders Movie at 7pm (Hosted by our friends at the NWTA, formally PUMP) and have some beers together, it will be fun, I promise.  So let’s do it, let’s hang out, let’s ride bikes, bring your friends (all of them), and let’s tell the world bikes are awesome and more people should ride them.  See you Thursday @ 6pm at the fountain North of the Hawthorne bridge."

See you all there? We need to train for the parade this Saturday.....
