CPR, AED, and first aid training

The Northwest Trail Alliance recently paid for me to become an American Red Cross certified CPR, AED, and first aid instructor. I'd like to begin teaching mountain bike enthusiasts and their friends and families these skills in order to help people become more comfortable performing basic CPR and treating a variety of injuries.

I'm writing to help open up a discussion with the larger group and get a feel for peoples' interest in learning these skills.

 A few questions to consider:

- If you were to take a class, would you be interested in learning adult CPR and first aid only? Or, would you like to learn CPR for children and infants, too? What about AED usage? Generally speaking, each additional module (child CPR, infant CPR, and AED usage) would likely require more time and potentially more money in order to learn.

- Would you be comfortable paying $10 - 15 for learning these skills?

- Would you be interested in learning some of the necessary information by watching a few videos on your own, prior to the class? Or, would you prefer to spend more time in a class and watch more videos as a group?

- Would you prefer to have the class later this fall or over the winter?

If you've got additional questions about the classes, feel free to post them in this thread, or you're welcome to contact me directly at danwerle@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Dan, first off, thank you very much for offering this and going through the trouble of getting certified! I would like to make sure that everyone who ever rides with me has, at a minimum, first aid and cpr (and cold beer...)

Personally I think basic cpr and first aid is veryimportant to me. I'm not as concerned about child/infant cpr and, I have to admit, I'm not sure what AED usage is (if it's similar to WMD usage, I think I can skip it though...)

As far as watching videos at home, I love the idea, but I'm guessing I would procrastinate and not get that done. Having said that, if the majority would rather watch videos at home, I can make that happen.

As far as price, I think that sounds completely fair and reasonable.

I would love to hear other people's thoughts.

cheers,

Will

Thanks

Hi,

I'm responding to this post in a feeble attempt to get this post moved up to the top of the list.

Anyone else interested?

Thanks.
