Just moved to PDX, looking for riding buddies

Just moved here from Florida, I like XC/Trail type riding..used to freeride but got hurt too many times so I mellowed out some...still do some light DH

 Anyways I have transportation and can ride any day after 4pm and any Saturday/Sunday

welcome topdx. enjoy the awesome trails im sure you will find lots of people to ride with. i can do sundays sometimes but work schedule wekdays work better now. kinda hit and miss noadays. :D

Heading out tomorrow to ride Raven's (DH trail) on westside.  Meet up is at Reeher's Camp (near Timber) at 10am... if yer interested in an intermediate DH shuttle session.  trail is 1.25 miles in length and full on DH (don't bring an all-mountain bike to the party...).

Email me if ya plan to be there and we'll wait a reasonable amount of time at Reeher's camp parking lot before heading up to trailhead (not marked and not on any map yet).   joer [at] nw-trail.org

Welcome!   And be sure to get down to Black Rock Mountain Bike Area near Falls City soon!   It's our little slice of the Northshore and Whistler right here in our backyard.

Evan,

I am also pretty new and am starting to discover some great places to ride single track XC out here.  Weekend rides are best for me, but as I learn the area, I am hoping to get out after work around 4pm too.  

I am headed to the group ride tomorrow and will be at sunset at 8:50.  I will be in a silver pontiac vibe & will be riding a grey gary fisher.  Also having spent some time in the south, I will have tarheels sticker on the back of the car.

Otherwise, put up another post when you are ready to ride sometime, and I will try & catch up with you.

I ended up going to the Sandy Ridge today, did some maintenance then rode the awesome trail.  I woudl also like to find something close to PDX to ride during the week after 4pm also

especially as the days get longer.  It's best to go out there with someone who has local knowledge of the trails cause they are not marked.  Once I get this cast off, I'll be jonesin' to get back out.

Free on Saturday to ride if you are!  As I've never been to either Gales Creek or Sandy Ridge, I'd be delighted to ride either location.  Just moved to PDX, eagerly looking forward to exploring new trails in the lush green forests of Oregon.  :)

I'm planning on heading to Sandy Ridge Sunday.  1 1/2 laps is the goal... leaving PDX about 8:30-9:00 or so.  I'm limited in choices to ride for the next few weeks - as baby is coming any week/day now.

I'd like to get out on Saturday as well, and have been itching to ride Sandy Ridge. However, I'll ride Gales creek as well if that's the consensus... Sandy can always wait.

Thoughts? Looks like there's some talk of both Saturday and Sunday rides on here.

Thinking I'd like to join y'all if it's cool......Gonna try to get out there, the wife is sick so I might be pulling kid duty, so might not be able to make it...dying to ride though, I have not been able to get out in weeks...I'm leaving from LO too, I'll try to be at the trailhead by 10....I''ll be in a silver Tacoma and riding a black Ibis....I'll also be the slow one going up the access road!

There's some fairly 'close in' riding to be had just north outside of Vancouver and Washougal areas.... an area called "Cold Creek/Tarbell Trail" also another good trail called "Three Corner Rock". One of the great NW trails about an hour +/- north of Portland is called "Siouxon Creek".

I'd be happy to lead a ride sometime.
