Cascade Locks trails
Hi,
At the beginning of March I'll be at Skamania Lodge, opposite Cascade Locks, for a conference and as a mountain biker I've been looking around for trails and discovered the CLIMB trails. I see that the easyCLIMB loop is already opened, and that looks excellent, but is there any more that is open and reachable by bike from the town? We'll be borrowing the lodge's own bikes (lowest Giant Boulder hardtails, I think) which are a bit lame so nothing too technical please. :)
Thanks for any advice,
Ross

CL Trails
Never ridden it but I believe trail 411 is an out and back that starts near CL. On USFS land.
Do you
Do you mean http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/crgnsa/recreation/recarea/?recid=30010? That site says bikes are prohibited, is that wrong or is that more of a guideline and people ride it anyway?
Were you thinking of Trail
Were you thinking of Trail 400? A good chunk of that one is open to mountain bikes.

It has been many years since I rode that one. I recall the blackberries being bad in late spring and early summer. Right now might not be too bad. I think you would be fine on a hard tail from what I remember about the trail.

Sweet
I was at the CLIMB trail Sunday just gone (4th) on our rather scary hire bikes[1], and had a great time. There is a surprising amount of varied trail in such a small amount of land, and the build team should be very proud. I'm sure I'll be back again next year!

[1] Old Giant hardtails: cobwebs on the V brakes, rear brake very soft, fork apparently randomly locked up, mega-range cassette, obviously no lube for months.
