Regional Women's Ride at Blackrock

Calling all PNW Ladies of MTB!  

Join us for a regional women's ride at Blackrock on Sunday, March 25th.

If you are an intermediate to advanced xc rider interested in getting your adrenaline on, this is your ride!  Free riders and Downhill ladies, you can show us how it's done!!!

Fair warning:  Many of us will have Big Bikes (lots of squishy travel) so this will not be a fast uphill mash fest.  The mission of this ride is to have a ripping good time on the downhill.  All stunts incorporate ride-around options, and all beginner trail stunts are appropriate for XC suspension bikes.  So bring it on!  You will have plenty of fun, even if you are riding a 4" travel bike with 2.1 tires. Big Bikes are not required! 

When:  Sunday, March 25, 2012

Time:   Meet at the parking area around 9:45am; We head up to Basic Training at 10:00am

Where:  Socialist Valley Rd parking lot (Google maps:  44.874302,-123.495684)

Note:  Google maps will tell you to turn right onto Park Street as you leave the town of Falls City.  **DO NOT GO THIS WAY**  As you drive through Falls City, you will want to turn right onto Mitchell Street and then a left at the Y to continue on Mitchell St/Blackrock Rd.  You will continue on the gravel road until you see a right hand turn for Socialist Valley Rd.  Turn right and continue to the gate and park.

Ride Duration:  Plan for a 4-5 hour ride.

Ride Distance/Goals:  It is about a 1 mile gravel road climb to get to Basic Training, where the official kiosk is located.  We will spend time at Basic Training getting familiar with drops and table tops, and then continue up the gravel road another 2-3 miles to the top of the trails.  After our first run down, we will regroup at Basic Training before heading up for a second round of DH shreddin'...

Bring:  Helmet, Tube, Pump, Food, Water, and Layers.  This is a rain or shine event. 

Rendezvous at North Dallas Pub & Grill, 170 E Ellendale, Dallas, for post-ride food and drinks!
