Web committee meeting
Concordia Ale House
3276 NE Killingsworth St
The current web team is very strong! And it is also very small. This is an open invite and call to action for any NWTA members or perspective members who have web development, design, editorial skills or interests and would like to improve our site. Or just come by, have a beer and heckle. We need you! To bring you up to speed on where we're at:
- Update domain name and move database to larger, more robust server [Done]
- Update our content management system, Drupal, to the latest version. To say the least, we're a little out of date and this restricts some further development with the site.
- Explore new site design templates - improve site usability and organization
- Improve forum taxonomy and structure
- Create timeline or historical content showcasing PUMP accomplishments and milestones
- Design/develop new static - seasonally changing homepage and content for homepage
- Develop new features, i.e. Ride Guide and Hours Tracker features
I could go on but you get the idea -- we've got plenty to work on! We're currently working with a pro developer, consulting with him on tech issues and design aspects as well. He's not a club member, yet, but is a cyclist on-board with our mission and has been helping us out pro bono thus far. He can't do this long-term and our budget for paying him is of course limited. Please contact me if you've got any questions or just drop by our meeting next week. I'm going to start with a couple meetings per month and see how that works out for everyone. Thanks,
John Stegmaier
