Freedom Riders is the story of a small, core group of riders who evolved from covertly building rough and unsustainable trails to creating a precedent-setting relationship with the Forest Service and crafting some of the best freeride trails in the country.

Freedom Riders offers a look at the evolution of the sport, the progression of trail users, and an inside story of a group of riders that would never see their passion die. They are the Freedom Riders...

Group ride to the flick is planned by New Belgium Brewing....

From Michael Craft Of New Belgium Brewing's 'Tour De Fat' event:

"Let’s Ride:  The Team Wonderbike Bicycle Ride of Destiny.

On Thursday night (the 13th of August) lets all meet North of the Hawthorne Bridge in Waterfront Park (the site of this Saturday's Tour de Fat), at the Salmon Street fountain for a 6pm departure and have ourselves a bike ride.  We will cruise through your streets and have a real good time, we will make new friends and chat with them, we will finish at Clinton Street Theatre (2522 SE Clinton Street) for the Freedom Riders Movie at 7pm (Hosted by our friends at the NWTA, formerly PUMP) and have some beers together, it will be fun, I promise.  So let’s do it, let’s hang out, let’s ride bikes, bring your friends (all of them), and let’s tell the world bikes are awesome and more people should ride them.  See you Thursday @ 6pm at the fountain North of the Hawthorne bridge."

See you all there? We need to train for the parade this Saturday.....

Go Detroit Red Wings!

Great movie!

Thanks Will and everyone for making this happen.  A good attendance for the 7PM showing, for sure (much better than some of the Bicycle Film Festival showings for comparison).

A great way to get pumped up for trailbuilding...  and an example of what can happen when land managers and users work together--  even a DH trail in a National Forest can happen.
