Gifford Pinchot SOPA

The latest edition of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) is out and available to read. New projects being studied for the Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument include: expanding parking at Ape Cave, a bridge on the Fossil Creek Trail, and construction of new toilets at the Siouxon Trailhead. These projects are expected to be completed by July 2010. SOPA is a good way to keep abreast of proposed projects on the various National Forests.
The latest SOPA can be found at: http://www.fs.fed.us/sopa/components/reports/sopa-110603-2009-10.html#11

Darn Toilets
Brent.
Forest Park Pass
That is a possibility - not confirmed at this time.
If however, you want to avoid paying for a parking pass there are ways in which to obtain a parking pass! You can put in some sweat equity with the Mount St Helens Institute and get a day pass for each work party you attend; turn two in and get a season pass; or work so many hours and get a pass for next year! It works, It's Fun!
I am trying to formalize the same arrangement with the NFS so NWTA can give out Forest Parking Passes at our work parties.
The Volunteer Parking Pass!
