Kettle Crest up for Wilderness Designation...BAD

Many of you probably already know but the Kettle Crest area in Northeast WA is being considered for Wilderness designation.  Write Senator Maria Cantwell and let her know you think this is a bad idea.  People don't seem to understand that we're great land stewards and we don't leave a negative impact on the areas we use.  We're better for the land and create less of an impact than, dare I say, any other user group!!!

I want to get to this area, it looks awesome, look for a trip to be scheduled next summer!

Here's Senator Cantwell's webpage:  http://cantwell.senate.gov/

i just want to say that we are part of the process there, and we are going to do our best to leverage access for mt. bikes.  But at the same time there are so many other groups and interests involved so it's best to hold off comments at this point.  There are 21 Roadless areas in the current Wilderness Study, and not all of them impact the access of mt. bikes, so it's best to hold sentiment for now.

Will gladly update you all on this as we go.  And remember support Helens Fest, David Anderson and other folk from NWTA and Evergreen Alliance in Seattle are working hard to galvanize relationships that will help secure access to our recreation for generations to come.  As we as mt. bikers, are the premier low-impact quiet human powered recreation.
