Powell Butte Project Advisory Committee Open House Update-Submit Comments By Nov. 27th
Submitted by Cecily on Sat, 11/14/2009 - 5:42pm.
I wanted to thank everyone who came out to the Open House on Thursday. Mountain bikers had a very good turn out and were able to make our voices heard! The case for more mult-use trails was made and supported by nearly all user groups. At the Open House, attendees had a chance to provide feedback to the design team by filling out the public comment form. If you have not filled out the form please do so now! The City is giving the public until Friday, November 27th to submit comments.

The next PAC meeting will be at 6:30 on Monday, November 16th at the Parklane Christian Reformed Church (16001 SE Main). There is time for public comment durning this meeting.

Thanks for the update.
Thank You Cecily!
I just filled out the comment form and encourage others to do the same. I focused on the need for the trails to be returned to more singletrack form (no more gravel and woodchips), a downhill mtb only trail that is more challenging, and more multi-use trails of varying degree of difficulty. I also encouraged them to take a look at using wooden structures to help hikers/bikers avoid sensitive areas, and pointed them to the IMBA website for suggestions.
Thanks again.
