Powell Butte Park open house rescheduled

Due to confirmed forecasts of extreme cold or snowy weather on Saturday morning, the Portland Water Bureau and Portland Parks & Recreation have rescheduled their Powell Butte Nature Park public open house for Monday, December 14, 2009, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at ParklaneChristian Reformed Church, 16001 SE Main Street in Southeast Portland.  The weather is forecast to be warmer on Monday.

The City of Portland encourages the public to avoid driving when severe weather makes travel hazardous.

At the open house, the public will have the opportunity to view thedesign concepts of proposed park improvements based on input from the community and a citizens Project Advisory Committee (PAC). The park facilities are a new interpretive center with public restrooms, a new maintenance building, and a replacement caretaker's house. Also, the public will again be able to provide suggestions on the development of a new trail plan.
