Kicked off digging at Stub

Thanks to the 7 volunteers who came out on March 7th to kick off the series of work parties leading up to finishing out the upper loop in the mountain biking area at Stub.   We're on track to getting our tasks knocked out so the park folks will be able to open the zone up to the public this year.   During this day we focused on dialing in some of the outslope edge of trail and dispersing the duff.

Had some energy snacks and drinks donated by Cayuse Cycles owner Phil Champoux of West Linn to fuel the builders.   After the trail work was done and the tools turned back in, some of us regrouped at a campsite and we got treated to a fresh batch of grapefruit IPA that Alex had brewed up.  And yes, he's invited to every trail work party forever cuz that was good stuff!   There's definitely a distinct advantage to hosting volunteer trail work events in the Northwest with its many many microbreweries and brewmasters. *thumbs up*

The park treated us to a new trail tool called a Mclaski along with the normal supply of McCleods, shovels, and Hazel hoes.  The Mclaski is an amazing light weight all-purpose trail builders dream (and comes with a price tag to match... ouch!)

Shot a few short clips during the work party.   I'd have shot more video to capture the unique fun which is a bunch of mountain bikers building trail for mountain bikers... but I was busy well... building trail!   (will put the vid up as soon as I'm done editing)

Hope to see ya all back out for the March 27th work party at Stub.  It was fun group.  I'll swing a McCleod or better yet a Mclaski with ya anytime!   Check the event calendar cuz there's plenty of 'em scheduled thru June.
