Logging on Cold Creek. Cold Creek is open on the weekends.

Cold Creek Mountain Bikers,

I wanted to give everyone a quick update on what is happening on the Cold Creek Trail. 

The logging/road building that took place above 5 corners or Murphy’s Grade has now proceeded below the road impacting a new section of trail. The indications are that the trail tread is still intact and should be able to be ridden

There is a scheduled meeting for Tuesday April 27, to discuss the planned reroute of the portion of trail impacted last season by the road  building.  We plan to address new concerns at that time. 

According to the contract, the Cold Creek trail is to remain open on the weekends and cleared for weekend use.  The trail is closed at the point of posting during the week.

The road is closed if posted, which it currently is, so please don’t ride up the road.

It has been requested that you don’t approach the watchman or other workers  with questions about the logging activities, instead you may email me and I will attempt to get answers to your questions.  If I could get your concerns by 2 pm on Tuesday, I will take them to the meeting and present them to the DNR.

Please stay out of the work area.  People have been climbing log piles etc., it would be helpful if we stayed out of the work area.
