Just wondering is there a way to get the TV news to come out and film bikers doing good deeds on the trails. Show use building, maintaining approved trails. Just getting tired of being shown in a negative light.
People doing good things and just going about life makes for boring news. Doesn't sell newspapers and doesn't get eyeballs on your website.
Did a press release go out to the media outlets about the trail reclaimation work parties that occurred at FP? I'd hope so.
There's also a walk-thru of the proposed Gateway Green bike park coming up. Part of planning/education. I doubt the press was invited. Boring as hell stuff unless you are a trail builder or interested stakeholder.
Personally, I don't watch the news and rarely pick up a newspaper. I get my news from Facebook. ;)
yeah that sucked ...
I guess you mean this KGW story, with this lead-in:
"The discovery of another illegal bike trail has Portland parks officials sounding an alarm today."

Very annoying! And they mentioned the trail in FP again.
Of course the tear-out of the trail in FP wasn't on the news (well, I haven't found any coverage of it) :-(

See the story on the front page re: Gateway aGreen press coverage. Not mainstream media, but good all the same.
