This
is a new trail construction project. Work will include clearing
vegetation, excavation, and grading. Give ODF a heads up if you plan to
go so they can make sure enough tools are on hand. (last minute
volunteers are always welcome though!)

Meeting Time: Sign-In at 9:30 A.M. / Trail Construction Starts at 10:00 A.M.

Meeting Location: Reehers Camp Day Use Trailhead

Driving Directions from Portland:

• Highway 26 westbound toward the Oregon Coast

• At milepost 38 turn left onto Timber Road

• Follow Timber Road to the town of Timber.

• Turn west onto Cochran Road and travel 2.5 miles to the trailhead located just past the campground.

This is a new trail construction project. Work will include clearing
vegetation, excavation, and grading. This trail is being built to a
moderate standard for hiker, horse, and mountain bike use. It is being
constructed to the following specifications.

Trail width 30 inches - Full Bench
Clearing width 6 feet at pack height (3 feet each side of centerline)
Clearing height 10 feet

The project will require walking and working on steep uneven terrain
and hiking off trail and on trail already built in order to access the
work site.

The Oregon Department of Forestry will provide the tools, but anything you can bring will be appreciated.

Appropriate clothing for the work includes boots or sturdy shoes, long
pants (no shorts), and gloves. Volunteers should also bring lunch and
water. Please no dogs or children under age 12.

Contact ODF at least a week before volunteer workday so an adequate
number of tools are reserved. Last minute workers are welcome too.
