Syncline Trail Report

Attached is the NEW map of the Syncline area with the proposed trail changes and closures.

For those who are interested, the Forest Service announced their final plan for the area.  The attached map reflects these changes. If you want more detailed information you can visit http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/columbia/projects/

In short, some of our favorite trails will be close.  Thus, I suggest that we ride them before they are closed.

I have emailed the Forest Service asking when the trail closures will occur and have not received a reply yet.  From the attached information, I gathered that the changes would ocur over the next 1-3 years.  Trail closed signs are easy, so I think trails will start to be closed in the first year. Where as building new parking areas, trailheads, and bathrooms will be in the 2nd and 3rd year. So don’t delay, get out and ride…
