three summits ride

Date:
Sun, 09/26/2010 - 7:00am - 6:00pm

Meet at Gateway park and ride south parking lot at 7 am.  Meet at the Rock Creek Campground at 8 am.  All day ride, minimal breaks.  Bring a feed bag for your handle bars as we will stop very rarely, treating this like an endurance ride.  Bring lots of water.  Will ride to top of Larch Mountain, top of Silver Star Mountain and over Bell Mountain.  Bring a flashlight in case it gets dark.

I have no idea if this ride will end in the afternoon or by nightfall so please come prepared with some type of light in case it does get dark.

Tarbell-Star Mountain

An all day ride with a sick amount of climbing (but no worse then the "Big Ride") and great views at the top of Star Mountain.  Ride is contingent on the trail being open after the recent fire.  Meet at the south end of the gateway park and ride (the usual spot) at 8 am.  Leaving the parking lot no later than 8:10 am.

The Ride

Bennett Pass to the end of Surveyors Ridge via some the best trails on Mt Hood.  Along the way ride leaders will help you navigate the trails.  Aid stations will be there to support you.  A best of all there will be a celebration party at the Saw Tooth Roadhouse.

Plan to ride 50 miles, use a map, and be in the saddle for 6 hrs.  This is not a race, but it requires that you come prepared.

Post Canyon

Date:
Sun, 07/18/2010 - 9:00am - 4:00pm

Meeting at the SW corner of Gateway Transit Center at just before 9 to leave at 9 sharp.

I put Gonzo as we will be doing a fair amount of climbing at a decent pace, probably twice.  We will also be spending a fairly substantial amount of time on Elementry School and Family Man, as well as stopping to do trail side features and technical sessioning.  No one left behind, and if you want you can bail out down the road to the car after you've had your fun.

Plan on hitting 8 track twice and the Seven Rivers trail down, then finishing the day with Spaghetti Factory.  Pushing 20 miles, several thousand feet of climbing.
