New Wilderness Area (forum)

I am not aware of this affecting any existing mountain bike trails since it is a private land swap. But it is something to keep an eye on.

Current Condition: Sandy Ridge - Hide and Seek (forum)

Trail is ridable, but still under construction.  It's over 90% done - the bridge across Little Joe creek towards bottom still needs to be built - but other than that she's a beatiful piece of single track - moderately challenging but fun for all levels!  There aren't trail signs yet.   There's a scary sign on board at yellow gate indicating "closed to public" but that's talking about the watershed area (which if you go all the way up the road you'll see boundary marks for - keep out of that area unless ya want jail time...)

Right now, mid-Winter-ish, the trail is only 1% muddy.  compacting well, and trail designed to manage water excellently.  *thumbs up* to the builders!  Hit one patch of squishy muddy ground but that looked like a permanently squishy spot - and it's all good - not a ride without getting a little mud in yer eye.  ;)

Sandy River DH trail on BLM land? (forum)

Does anybody know status of this new trail system?   Heard there was some DH trail to be had too.   Is it shuttlable?   Where's the trailhead?  When does it open?

Any volunteers with NWTA been involved who can give us the scoop?

MTB ride this weekend (8/29-8/30) - anyone interested? (forum)

Hello,

I am looking for a ride-partner or partners for the upcoming weekend. I would like to explore the Hood River area but if you have different trais in mind I would not mind them at all. I have never had a chance to ride outside Portland since I moved up here and anyone who knows local trails and areas would be very wellcome. Please feel free to call me at 503-593-5585 or email me at emir75@gmail.com.

Thanks

Emir
