Electric Power Assist

Not to be a fearmonger, but the time will come when we start running into people on the trails sporting electric power on their mountain bikes.  Clearly a motor changes things and maybe won't be a policy challenge.  But, I am curious what others think...

A Pedal Nation Event - The Bicycle Show

Northwest Trail Alliance will have a booth near the bike skill course!  NWTA volunteers will be setting up section of the bike course with challenging wooden features (fun for all ability levels to try!  These are the same features at Sunday Parkways events.)

A Pedal Nation Event – The Bicycle Show

On April 10 & 11th, 2010 – Bicycles are taking over the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon
- Come see  100+ companies, including Bianchi, Co-Motion Cycles, Kona
Bicycles, Brompton Bicycles, Momentum Magazine, Portland Design Works,
Queen Bee Creations, Rocky Mountain, Shimano, Showers Pass, Ruckus
Components, Bike Portland, Nutcase Helmets and United Bicycle
Institute.  The show floor will be covered with an exciting mix of
retailers, fabricators, industry giants and advocacy organizations all
under one roof.

Portland Bike Swap Volunteers Needed

Volunteers needed for the Portland Bike Swap, to be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sun. Feb. 28. A variety of duties and shifts are available from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Shifts could include admission, raffle, setup, breakdown, and more. If interested, email amy@nw-trail.org or sign up below. We are also accepting donations to sell at our table. Thanks!! All proceeds benefit the Northwest Trail Alliance.

L.L. Stub Stewart State Park build days in May...

 

Build days are lined up for May, now we gotta knock 'em out! Need at least 10 volunteers each build day.

There are 3 build days scheduled for May out at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park - in the under construction mountain biking zone.   We also do adhoc build days when the mood strikes, and trained volunteers are welcome to do adhoc work on the trail on their own (when approved to do so - contact volunteer@westsidetrailfederation.org for info).

Vernonia bike skills park build day

Focus will be dirt jumps and finishing Beginners Skill Line. 9AM- 3PM.  Bring Tools, Boots, Work Gloves, Food, Water.

Please send RSVP to volunteer@westsidetrailfederation.org so we can plan appropriate tasks for number of volunteers.
