2011 Mt Hood Epic

Its official...  The Forest Service has approved the 4th annual Mt Hood Epic for 9/17/11.

What is needed now are 4 CORE volunteers to help put on this event

Logistics

  • Coordinate and hire transportation
  • Create and print maps and event info for the attendees
  • Coordinate food and beverages
  • Collect the misc. items for the start/finish and aid stations

Results of 2/28 work party at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

Made some solid progress towards goal to have 1.5 miles of trail open by June 2009.  The volunteer team busted open about 1/4 mile of additional trail!  Thanks to all for your effort - every bit counts.

Mt St Helens recreation groups meeting

Members of the Mount St Helens NVM organized a meeting of several user groups on Thursday April 10th to pass on volunteering information.  Seventeen people attended the meeting representing Horseback riders (4), Snowmobilers (1), ATV/4WD (10), mountain bikers (2).  Jerry Deruyter and David Anderson were the two PUMP reps.  It was an informative meeting.

Bill Uyesugi, the Recreation and Facilities Manager for the Mount St Helens NVM has scheduled a meeting for our Volunteer Coordination.  It will be at the Ward Fire Hall on the corner of Fourth Plain
Blvd, and Ward Rd. in Northeast Vancouver from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  We plan to
have a brief update on the Forest Service Recreation Programs, review
projects and work party schedules, and discuss how we can help each other
with skills, materials, advertising, etc.
