Decision on Syncline Area

I receive this notice last week.  A decision has been handed down regarding the management of what most of us refer to as the Syncline area.  We haven't really had a chance to fully digest this info yet, and will be passing along more info as it becomes available.  It does appear that some trails which cross private land will be closed.  As always, please be respectful of private property, and other trail users.

Syncline - hidden canyon and beyond

Join me for a trip thru hidden canyon, little moab and the other greats out at Syncline tomorrow.

 Would like to meet at Gateway Transit Center at 9:30. I've got a roof rack and can take 2 bikes currently or three with an extra tray.

Give me a ring at 541-480-6648 tonight if you're interested and we can work out details - call, don't email.

 If I don't hear from anyone, then I won't go to Gateway.

Attached is the NEW map of the Syncline area with the proposed trail changes and closures.

Ride at Syncline on Saturday, May 24th.  Trailhead meeting is at 11:00.  Meet at the Gateway transit center south lot at 9:00 AM for carpooling.  See the attached map.

Be prepared for climbing. Probably do 2 laps of climbing up and descending down.

Plan on 5 hours of riding time with breaks as needed.

Syncline Ride (deja vu)

By popular demand, we will be riding at Syncline both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.  The ride logistics are the same for both: 

We will be carpooling from Gateway Transit Center, leaving at 10am.  See the map for the parking lot location, it is the one that is not near the parking garage and does not have gates.  We will be at the trailhead around 11:30am.

Syncline Ride

Ride and then be back in town for Seasons showing at the Baghdad!  We will be carpooling from Gateway Transit Center.  See the map for the parking lot location, it is the one that is not near the parking garage and does not have gates.

We will ride for a few hours and wait for all riders at trail junctions.  Please bring food, water, and appropriate clothing.  A change of clothes for the ride home is also recommended.

Sunday's Sinful Syncline Ride

Okay, so really nothing will be sinful about this day or ride.  It should be a delightful time with great folks.  Come on out and ride with us.  Meet up with friends from last year's riding season that have been in hibernation and meet new friends too!  The time to ride is now! 

A fun day riding at Syncline.  And to think, I've never been to Syncline before - that is likely the true sin here!  But, there is going to be some fine folks on hand that have knowledge of the trails.  Judging by Jordan's forum post, the conditions are primo right now.
