Ride at Scappoose?  Want to give back to the Scappoose area?  How about joining a SOLV clean-up on Rocky Point Road/Skyline Blvd this Saturday.

One of many SOLV clean-up parties on Saturday around the Portland area, this clean-up provides an opportunity for those of you who ride the Scappoose trails to be stewards of the surrounding area.

Time:  8:00AM

Meet-up spot:  Intersection of Rocky Point Rd and NW Skyline Blvd.

Tillamook State Forest SOLV Clean-up (ODF)

TILLAMOOK STATE FOREST

Project:    SOLV Day Cleanup

Project Date:     April 17th, 2010

Meeting Time:    Registration Begins at 8:15 AM / Clean-up from 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Meeting Location:    Summit of Highway 6 at the ODOT Sand shed (Milepost 33)

Project Location:    The cleanup sites are located in the Browns Camp, Rogers Camp, Drift Creek, Reehers Camp area, and along the Wilson River Highway corridor.

Project Description:    Clean up of tire dumps; clean up of garbage at dispersed camping areas, illegal dumpsites and areas along forest roads and trails; and removal of abandoned vehicles.  Work may require walking and working on steep terrain.  ODF group leaders will be provided to volunteers to clean-up areas.

Appropriate clothing for the work includes work boots or sturdy shoes, long pants and gloves.  It usually rains for this event so prepare for wet weather.  Volunteers should also bring lunch and water.

Gateway Green Clean Up Event with SOLV and NWTA

The big one-day event at the future site of Gateway Green will be held on Saturday, April 17th, from 9am-1pm. This event is a SOLV-IT event in partnership with the Northwest Trail Alliance and neighborhood groups. 

The goal is to clean the area, get exposure, and to introduce people to the site.  We will be meeting at the Gateway transit center and then walking and biking to the clean up site at Gateway Green. More details to come.

Tillamook State Forest Work Party - SOLV Cleanup

The 2nd Oregon Deparment of Forestry (ODF) led work party for the Tillamook State Forest (TSF) in 2009 will be the annual SOLV clean up day.  Come out and help beautify your state forest lands.  Throughout the year many people go to great lengths to vandalize public lands by illegally disposing of appliances, tires, construction debris, entire automobiles, and other waste and hazardous items.  The TSF suffers from illegal dumping and volunteers during the annual SOLV clean up day help to remove these items.  You will be amazed at the amount of trash that we collect and haul out of the w

This PUMP member had a BIG day in the Tillamook State Forest (Beginner SOLV cleanup in the snow, intermediate presentation on climate change, and gonzo ride with snow/trees/wash outs on the Wilson River Trail).
