Thank you for the participation at the ODF Non-motorized Volunteer Trail Work Party this past Saturday

Thank you to those that came out for the 1st Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) non-motorized trail work party of the season this past Saturday (http://www.nw-trail.org/node/2060).  This work party was led by the Northwest Trail Alliance due to budget and staff reductions for ODF's recreation staff for the Tillamook State Forest.  Thank you to Matt Savage, Reese Bowes, Brian List, Fred MacGregor, Ray Bayley, and Wayne Naillon for coming out to volunteer your time to perform maintenance work on the Wilson River Trail for the benefit of all users of this trail.  We provided a total of 27 hours of volunteer work for the day, not including driving time.

*New* Sandy Ridge Trail Work Dates

Good weather and multiple requests for more trail work days at the Sandy Ridge Trails has prompted additional trail work days for Sandy Ridge, in addition to our scheuduled Trail Work Party & Discovery Ride as part of our Portland Trail Fest.  Please join us at these events, which are co-hosted with our trail partners the Salem District Bureau of Land Management and the International Mountain Biking Association.

First, we've added an official Trail Work Party for Saturday, March 20th, the first of the season for the Sandy Ridge Trail System.  March your calendars, come throw some dirt and then ride your bike on this great trail system.

volunteer work party raffles and general fun at Stub

Trying something new this build season out at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park...

In addition to normal member points you'll earn towards end of year raffle, I'll be arranging for having trail work party raffle for those who attend (whether member of NWTA or not!)   Got items lined up for first few build days already - Chris King t-shirt, Republik jerseys, Cane Creek bar ends, some lock-on grips...

Talking to Cayuse Cycles in West Linn about sponsoring food.   Idea is for an after trail work party BBQ back at a campsite.  Now, if I can just line up a brewery sponsor (Deuschutes?) we'll be all hooked up.  Some work parties will feature BBQ and brews after 2pm once the trail work is all done and tools checked in (i.e. once we're all off the clock, so to speak, as NWTA volunteers...)

First work party at Stub will be Sun, March 7.  Check event calendar -- http://nw-trail.org/node/1974

RSVP if you plan to attend so we know how many people to expect!

Additional volunteer work parties for Stub are scheduled...
