Stub Mountain Bike Area - south section to open by summer '11!

The N. Caddy Whomper area opened to public in August 2010, and we're now nearing another milestone with the south section which has been under construction for couple of build seasons...

NWTA is on target for open south section of trail in Stub mountain bike area by summer 2011.   We need your help on 3/20/2011 to complete a link section to tie Williams Creek bridge landing with the existing single track which has been built over couple of seasons (ready to ride but needs signage before open to public).

A BIG THANKS to all the volunteers that helped add more single track on Trail 140 last Sunday! We now have more new single track from the Post Flats Staging Area. We still have a small section of new trail to add to complete Trail 140 to the Binns Hill Staging Area. Please try to make the Work Party/Trail Ride this Sunday!

Stub XC singletrack trail build event

Digging next next section of singletrack in mountain biking only area
of park! Finishing up optional viewpoint loop. Added this build day
because won't get loop completed in single day and want it wrapped up
by end of October. We need your help.

Sign-in is 9am at Clayhill Horse Staging area (in Stub Stewart State Park). Tools provided, parking pass not needed. Bring work gloves, water, and something to eat for lunch.

We will carpool to project site from sign-in area.

Since 2007, Westside Trail Federation volunteers have devoted about 650 hours to helping Oregon Parks & Recreation Department with development of designated mountain biking specific area (not yet open) at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park.

Completing single-track phase 1 trail loop in mountain biking only zone
at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park. NEED YOUR HELP! Removing duff, cutting
trail, tamping new and existing - finish work (easy).

Meet up at Clayhill Horse Staging parking area in park at 9am. Hiking to project site (about 2 miles).

Bring gloves, snack, and water.

State Parks Day activities at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

On Saturday, June 6th the Oregon Parks & Recreation staff of L.L. Stub Stewart State Park hosted various activities and a free BBQ at Hilltop Day Use area as part of State Parks Day.

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED to Wednesday, June 24th.

Meet up at Clayhill Horse Staging Area at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park.
Bring your bike. We'll ride 2 miles to work spot (preference is to ride
to get most work accomplished - takes more than 30 minutes to hike in
but much less to ride in).

Tools provided. Bring gloves/snack/water.   All ya gotta know is how to
dig out ferns and move dirt.  Real easy work.   (hard part is putting
down the bike and picking up a tool...)
