Oregon Field Guide wants your FP/trails feedback

OPB/ ORegon Field Guide want to know what you think about the city's decision not to allow more mountain bike access in Forest Park.

Later this month we will be taking a 1/2 hour look at Forest Park's history, including discussion of the current debate over mountain bike trail access in the park. But we just started a new facebook page and we have included a new blog post about today's decision . Please feel free to share your thoughts on our page: http://www.facebook.com/oregonfieldguide

Thanks, Ed Jahn (Producer/ Oregon Field Guide)

Old Salmon River Trail

I rode the Old Salmon River Trail (http://www.mbpost.com/trail/272805/old-salmon-river-trail.html) for the first time on 6/12/10 with my wife. Given the amount of rain we've had lately, the trail was in surprisingly good condition. There were a few "soft" spots where former mud puddles hadn't completely dried yet, but nothing too bad. There are also a few small creeks without bridges that you have to cross, but if you're careful you can do it without getting your feet wet.

Memorial Weekend Roger's/Brown's Camp Ride

Given all the wonderful weather we'd been experiencing, we were all surprised and disappointed by the rainfall we experienced the Saturday night prior to this scheduled ride.  Shane's Enduro ride had some spots that were more prone to uber-mub, so he called his ride. JD and I decided to go ahead with the Classic Ride as we had 17 riders signed up  we were hopeful that the trails would be ok this early in the ride season.

Brown's Camp Memorial Weekend Ride x2!

Date:
Sun, 05/25/2008 - 9:00am

Time for a Brown's Camp Ride!
(AKA: Roger's Camp)

JD & I hear this trail has come out from under its snow blanket and is ready for riding. Several folks have e-mailed us that they've ridden it over the last two weeks and it is in pristine condition! The long weekend will give us time for a Monday recovery.

Thanks to Shane, we will now have 2 ride options:
