Sunday Parkways

Final Sunday Parkways in NW Portland on September 26th!

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who has helped out with Sunday Parkways this summer. I know, there were many of them. The exposure we have received, and even more importantly, the opportunities that this has opened up have been incredible. We are working on an opportunity to build a public pumptrack in large part due to the work that we have put into sharing the skills course at Sunday Parkways, so once again, THANK YOU!

This is the last round and is the first time it is being offered in NW (the Pearl District). This should be tons of fun, get some more great exposure and provide opportunities for kids of all ages to get jazzed on their bikes.

Once again, we are looking for a few volunteers to help out with setting up and staffing the event. The event is on Sunday, September 26th from 10am - 3pm. Drop me an email if you have a little time you can spare to invest in creating riding opportunities in the metro area!

SE Sunday Parkways on August 15th!

Hey everyone!

The fourth Sunday Parkways is coming up this weekend in SE, Sunday the 15th. We will be settign up in the ballfield in Col Sumners park. This has traditionally been the biggest draw of all the Sunday Parkways, and with all the attention and postive reactions we get from the skills course, we really want to have a great showing! Our goal is to be able to have skill courses in the metro area to provide fun and safe places for kids (of all ages) to have a great time, gain confidence and improve their bike handling!

We are getting positive feedback and interest in pursueing this goal, so let's continue to host the skills course, get people stoked on the possibilities, and show everyone there is a real demand for permanant and progressive bike parks in Portland!

Once again I am hoping you may have a little time in your day to help out. a couple of hours is a huge help!

The Sunday Parkways goes from 10am to 3pm. Please send me an email if you can help out.

Sunday Parkways coming up in East Portland on July 18th!

Hey everyone!

2 down and the next one is this weekend in East Portland (Sunday the 18th). This is a new addition this year and we will be setting up in Ed Benedict Park. http://www.portlandonline.com/transportation/index.cfm?c=51515&a=282549

We have a trailer now, and also tons of cones and caution tape to help manage the riders.

For those that havn't heard, Parks and Recreation wants to build a skills course in 2 existing parks! This is awesome news and due largely to the response we have gotten at Sunday Parkways! Huge thanks to all of you, we could not have done this without you!

Once again I am hoping you may have a little time in your day to help out. a couple of hours is a huge help!

The Sunday Parkways goes from 10am to 3pm on June 27th. Please send me an email if you can help out.

Hope to see everyone out enjoying the event!

 cheers,

Will Heiberg
