Postponed – Sandy Ridge Trail Work Party

April 12, 2020 @ 2:00 am 7:00 am

*** Event Postponed. Due to the risks posed by Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Oregon & SW Washington NWTA will be postponing all group activities until further notice. ***

Sunday April 12th. Sandy Ridge Trail Work.

Help us get the trails in shape for peak riding season. We’ll be repairing tread, filling holes, clearing drains, raking off fallen debris and whatever else needs doing to keep the trails running well.

After the work party we will celebrate our accomplishments with a Easter theme Egg Hunt. Bring your family and friends for a fun day!

Work Party Logistics:

Who: Everyone is welcome including newbies and non-members; tools are provided. Hardy kids who don’t mind potentially bad weather are invited as we often have a good group of them and will find some tasks for them to work on together.

When: 9:00am – 2:00pm Sunday, April 12, 2020

Where: Meet at the Sandy Ridge Trailhead Parking lot. https://goo.gl/maps/FuhqPAy87NK2

What to expect: We will meet at the parking lot at 9:00am, sign waivers, break up into smaller groups and hand out tools for the various maintenance areas identified and be heading out to start working by 9:30. Groups will carpool up to their assigned area with tools. You should expect to work rain or shine for approximately 4 hours. Weather can be variable this time of year so check the forecast and dress accordingly.

What to bring: Lunch (if sandwiches are not your jam), plenty of water, snacks, and any other clothing/protection you’d want when doing landscaping type work (digging, raking, cutting/sawing, etc).

Tools are provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you’ve got a favorite.

What to wear:

  • Long Pants (no shorts, please)
  • Boots
  • Sturdy work gloves (more than one pair is a good idea)
  • A light, long sleeved shirt
  • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather
  • Eye protection is recommended (eye glasses, safety glasses, etc.)
  • A hard hat or your bike helmet if you don’t have one
