DESCRIPTION:We are hoping to finish work on a re-route of the Hagg Lake loop trail between Turtle (7) and Gandolf’s (8)! \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nEvent sponsors: \n\n\n\n\nNorthwest Trail Alliance: https://nw-trail.org/\n\n\n\nWashington County Parks: https://washcoparks.org/\n\n\n\n\nPlanned agenda: \n\n\n\n\n9:00 – 9:15: meet at Eagle Point (34) overflow parking area\, check in\, welcome\, safety talk\, and work overview\n\n\n\n9:15 – 9:30: gather tools\, carpool and caravan to location of work – Turtle (7) or Gandolf’s (8)\n\n\n\n9:30 – 9:45: review work plans\n\n\n\n9:45 – 12:00: trail work\n\n\n\n12:00 – 12:15: break\n\n\n\n12:15-2:30: trail work\n\n\n\n2:30 – 2:45: walk back to worksite trailhead (either Turtle or Gandolf’s)\n\n\n\n2:45 – 3:00 PM: depart area\n\n\n\n\nWork notes: \n\n\n\n\nA bridge between Turtle (7) and Gandolf’s (8) was uprooted\, resulting in a partial closure of the loop trail. Washington County Parks has received approval from the Bureau of Land Reclamation for a 1/2 mile – 1 mile re-route to restore access to the trail. We are building that section of trail. It will likely include installation of a short bridge\, one culvert\, 3+ rock sections\, 3+ climbing turns\, and potentially retaining walls. For this work party\, we’ll be continuing construction of the new section – and potentially one or more of the planned features.\n\n\n\nEquipment we will be using will include\, but not be limited to: rakes\, McLeods\, Pulaskis\, hoes\, shovels\, chainsaws\, hand saws\, loppers\, wheelbarrows\, buckets\, and others. Tools will be provided; however\, if you’d like to bring additional tools\, you are welcome and encouraged to do so.\n\n\n\nEquipment needed: helmet (cycling helmets are OK)\, long pants\, sturdy\, comfortable footwear\, and good work gloves. We can help ensure you have a helmet\, if needed. Long sleeve shirts are recommended. If conditions are wet\, rain gear is recommended.\n\n\n\n\nOther Notes: \n\n\n\n\nDrinks\, snacks\, and swag will not be provided at the end of this event. Please bring water and snacks to keep with you at the work site.\n\n\n\nParking passes will be provided; no parking fee is required.\n\n\n\nVolunteer waivers will be available at the work site. They will need to be signed prior to beginning work. If possible\, please sign the online waiver attached with this invitation prior to arrival.\n\n\n\nNWTA volunteer hours will be logged for you.\n\n\n\nVolunteers under age 18 will need a parent or supervising adult with them.\n\n\n\nThe nearest restrooms are at: Eagle Point Recreation Area (34)\, Elks Creek (1)\, Sain Creek Recreation Area (13)\, & C-Ramp Recreation area (14).\n\n\n\nThe nearest market is 7-Star Convenience Store (formerly Lake Stop Grocery) on Old 47\, shortly before the park entrance.\n\n\n\nIf you need documents signed proving work completed\, we will have staff available to sign them.\n\n\n\nYou’re welcome and encouraged to ride the trail after the work party; we can store bikes in a very safe area while working\, if needed!\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, please contact me: Dan Werle // (503) 719-3226 // danwerle@gmail.com\n\n\n\nThanks!

DESCRIPTION:Trail Sisters hears you and we are answering your call for a beginner group ride! Join us at Gateway Green for a chill\, guided ride. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis will be a chill\, guided ride around the trails at Gateway Green. Ride at your own pace\, get comfy on your bike\, learn from others\, and maybe come away with a riding buddy or two! \n\n\n\nMeet at the north end of the park near the entrances of Ted’s Traverse and Meadow Loop. Your ride leaders will meet you there\, go over bike safety\, talk about route options\, and show you around the park! \n\n\n\nNote this is not a clinic\, just an opportunity to come together and ride with other women who are just getting into mountain biking. \n\n\n\nPlease bring: \n\n\n\n\nA mountain bike in good working order (just front\, or front and rear suspension\, knobby tires\, enough gears to get you up hills\, flat handlebar\, tires pumped\, sealant checked\, bolts tight\, chain clean and lubed\, brakes and shifters working)\n\n\n\n\n\nSnacks and water\n\n\n\nA multi-tool\, hand pump\, and extra tube are also good to have!\n\n\n\n\nIf you reigster but find that you are not able to make it\, please cancel your Eventbrite registration so our ride leaders have a good idea of how many folks to expect. \n\n\n\nOnce registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nContact carriej@nw-trail.org with any questions.
