Join River City Bicycles\, partnered with the NWTA\, for a night ride at Sandy Ridge. First time riding at night? It’s not as scary as it sounds\, we promise. This Halloween weekend is the perfect time to light up the woods and face those fears! \n\n\n\nWe plan to break into two groups\, Beginners and Intermediates. The Beginner route will cover ~5 miles and ~1000 feet of elevation. The Intermediate route will cover ~10 miles and ~2000 feet of elevation gain. Both routes should take around two hours. \n\n\n\nThe ride’s open to all genders\, and will be led by women from River City Bicycles. \n\n\n\nPlease bring 2-3 helmet- or handlebar-mounted lights\, and any additional glow-in-the-dark\, light-up costumes for yourself or your bike (just make sure everything is secure\, so we don’t litter the trails with shedding glow sticks). \n\n\n\nMeet at the Sandy Ridge Trailhead Parking Lot at 4:30pm\, to roll by 5:00pm. \n\n\n\nQuestions can be directed to Isabella at isabellat@rivercitybicycles.com. \n\n\n\nSIGN YOUR WAIVER \n\n\n\nOnce registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nE﻿vents like these are made possibly by membership dollars. This is a fundraiser for Northwest Trail Alliance. We’re putting the money right back into trails for the community to enjoy. Cyclepath will be cooking up some food for lunch\, Hopworks will be providing refreshments\, Pelican will have N/A Hopwater on hand. We’re excited to bringing back the Sandy Ridge Shuttle. Come out and support the trails you love. \n\n\n\nNOTE: This event is sold out. We are beholden to permitting limits\, and also need to be cognizant of our partners that have already ordered the food and beverages given those limits. If you are still looking to obtain a shuttle ticket\, there are two options: \n\n\n\n\nWe are still looking for a few shuttle day volunteers; those who sign up for a half day of help during the shuttle day get to ride for a half day free of charge. Please email volunteer@nw-trail.org if interested. \n\n\n\nSome tickets may be sold on-site after 10:30 a.m.\, once initial check-in is complete. DESCRIPTION:NWTA Tuesday Social Tuesday MTB Lights Night Ride at Stub Stewart State Park \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nThis is a “no drop” ride. Be ready to roll at 8:30pm. This ride also requires a special use permit in addition to the parking fee. The special use permit will be handed out before the start of the ride for display in your vehicle. \n\n\n\nA good riding light is required. Two are recommended\, one for your bars and one for your helmet. \n\n\n\nIf you don’t have lights and would like to try night riding\, we have two sets to try out which are donated by our sponsors Metropolis Cycles\, Trek\, and BTI. Email sidsbike2020@gmail.com to reserve a set. \n\n\n\nThe ride will be up Peavey Hook\, across Hares Canyon Connector to Hares Canyon\, down Hares Canyon to North Caddy Whomper Way\, then ride Shoofly\, up Hares Canyon\, then Brooke Creek to the park road\, then back to Hilltop. This is around 7 miles with about 1\,000 feet of elevation gain. This is about a 1.5 to 2 hour ride. DESCRIPTION:Burn off some calories before that big Thanksgiving dinner with a Rocky Point mountain bike group ride. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWeather and trail conditions permitting! \n\n\n\nDon’t want to ride alone? \n\n\n\nWant to meet other riders? \n\n\n\nNeed to burn off some carbs before Thanksgiving dinner? \n\n\n\nThe ride is open to all and e-bikes are welcome! \n\n\n\nWhere to meet: \n\n\n\nMeet at Rocky Point parking lot (gazebo) \n\n\n\nBeginner to intermediate riders are welcome to join a relaxed Thanksgiving morning group ride! \n\n\n\nRide is approximately 3 miles long. Maybe 1-1.5 hrs. \n\n\n\nWill be led by Chris Kelly! \n\n\n\nWhere to meet: \n\n\n\nMeet at the Rocky Point trailhead parking lot (Gazebo)at 9:30am. \n\n\n\nWhat does the ride look like: \n\n\n\nThis will be a relaxed ride that starts in the Rocky Point (RP) main parking lot\, to RP United\, to Andyland back to RP United and finishing in the main parking lot. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\nHappy Vibes \n\n\n\n\nA mountain bike in working order\n\n\n\nHelmet\n\n\n\nWater and snacks\n\n\n\nFirst aid kit\, tools for bike repair\, etc.\n\n\n\n\n(If you have signed up \, but can’t make it for some reason please email Chris beforehand so we know you won’t be attending.) \n\n\n\nQuestions can be directed to ChrisKelly at all-in-clubs@live.com \n\n\n\nIf you don’t have a membership you can sign up for a one-month trial at the link below! \n\n\n\nRocky Point Waiver Access Only (temporary\, non-voting membership) \n\n\n\nUnder the lease agreement with the Rocky Point land manager (Weyerhaeuser) you must be a NWTA Member in good standing AND sign the Rocky Point Waiver to access this property. \n\n\n\nNorthwest Trail Alliance (NWTA) is a membership organization dedicated to creating\, enhancing\, and protecting mountain bike riding opportunities; advocating for trail access; promoting responsible mountain biking; and building\, maintaining\, and riding sustainable trails. Membership dollars support all of NWTA’s work\, including hosting ride leader trainings such as these. DESCRIPTION:register here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin Trail Sisters for a ride through Forest Park the morning after Thanksgiving! \n\n\n\nThis ride is open to women; cis\, trans\, nonbinary. \n\n\n\nMeet: \n\n\n\nAt Fat Tire Farm at 10 a.m. and roll out by 10:30 a.m. (If you drive\, please don’t park in the FTF lot.) \n\n\n\nBring: \n\n\n\nA gravel/cyclocross bike with knobby 35c/40c tires for maximum fun\, but hardtail mountain bikes are also great for this terrain. Full suspension mountain bikes might be a bit heavy\, but bring what ya got! \n\n\n\nAlso\, bring the standard stuff to keep you safe and comfy: helmet\, gloves\, layers\, fenders\, water\, snacks\, clear-lens glasses. \n\n\n\nRide: \n\n\n\nAbout 1\,400 ft of climbing over about 16 miles. This is a no-drop ride but there may be groups that split up a little depending on who’s feeling peppy and who’s feeling chill 🙂 We will always regroup at natural stopping points. \n\n\n\nRoute on Ride With GPS: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49006426 \n\n\n\nSocialize: \n\n\n\nOptional (but highly encouraged) post-ride hang sesh at St Honore. While also learning about the trail-building plans for this season. \n\n\n\nDepending on group size\, we will separate into ride groups based on skill level and fitness. \n\n\n\nThis is an ideal ride for intermediate to advanced riders. \n\n\n\nThe ride – We will be riding trails that wind through delightfully old cedars and huge moss-covered boulders. The rocky areas are perfect for riders looking for a mix of flow\, jank\, and technical challenges. \n\n\n\nAfter the ride\, we’ll all regroup for a BBQ and beverages\, thanks to our sponsors.
