SUMMARY: Klootchy Creek Dirt Wave Race Series - 6/3-4
DESCRIPTION:Register to Ride the Dirt Wave at Klootchy Creek! Ride the Dirt Wave race series was created to showcase mountain bike trail systems on the Oregon Coast\, with two days of riding in each location. Day one has several “fun ride” options open to many levels of riders. These rides will be led by members of the NWTA Klootchy Creek team that built and regularly maintain the trails – showcasing the favorite trails in the area. Day two is race day!  The Flow Duro Challenge Race is a fun\, fast-paced\, timed competition down a short\, flowy\, mostly downhill trail. It combines all of our favorite elements of friendly competition down sweeping trails with a small amount of climbing and a large amount of fun!  This is a great opportunity to come out and get to know the trails in a fun and supportive environment. The celebration of the Klootchy Creek trails includes food\, music & beverages on site. Are you ready to get dirty? \n\n\n\nJoin us at Klootchy Creek for the third installment of the NW Trail Sisters Dig Series – Trail Maintenance! We are still finalizing the projects we’ll be working on\, but we can promise you won’t want to miss this one! Specialized will be providing post-dig food + drinks.  \n\n\n\nThe dig series is a set of dig days dedicated to skills and confidence building. We have four dig days scheduled at multiple locations where we will cover the ins-and-outs of trail building in a fun and supportive environment. \n\n\n\nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary.  \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nAlso\, to access Lewis and Clark Timberlands (Klootchy Creek trail system) you’ll need this FREE\, required permit.  \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\n\nWarm clothing & extra layers: We will be outside in the cold\, dress warm and bring extra layers.\n\n\n\nRain jacket (and pants if you have them): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain and that doesn’t stop us from digging! \n\n\n\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck!\n\n\n\nSturdy shoes\n\n\n\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\n\n\n\nEye protection \n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks & lunch\n\n\n\nBike and bike gear for post-digging rips\n\n\n\n\nTOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED. You are not required to bring any tools\, but if you have your own folding saw\, loppers\, rake\, shovel\, or hoe\, feel free to bring it. \n\n\n\nJoin NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. If the cost of membership creates a financial hardship\, please reach out to us\, we can help with that barrier. \n\n\n\nThese events are very popular and sell out quickly. DESCRIPTION:Our first Dig Day in June is here! \n\n\n\n\nregister\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nAll skill levels are welcome and we provide the tools. Just bring your helmet and a snack. We’ll meet in the Klootchy Creek trailhead parking lot at 10am and go from there.  \n\n\n\nIf this is your first time\, you’re welcome to bring your bikes. We’ll drive to the top where the tool trailer is located – that way you don’t have to worry about leaving bikes unattended in the parking lot. Remember to dress for the weather\, and even though the forecast might say blue skies doesn’t mean it won’t rain anyway. We’ll also be working in some muddy areas\, so wear boots or shoes you won’t mind if they get trashed. \n\n\n\nSee you Sunday!

DESCRIPTION:The Trail Sustainability Institute will be hosting Trail School at Klootchy Creek specifically for Trail Sisters (women/trans/femme). \n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE \n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nTrail Sisters! Join us for Trail School out on our coastal trails at Klootchy Creek on January 22nd. The event is for the Women/Trans/Femme community to build confidence in\, and understanding of\, trail maintenance in an encouraging environment.  \n\n\n\nTrail School covers the fundamental skills needed to maintain our trails. Trail Sisters will be learning safety techniques and tool identification/uses\, as well as hands-on training of corridor clearing\, drainage\, tread\, and benchwork. If you are interested in learning the “how” and “why” of trail maintenance\, this is the place for you!  \n\n\n\nCOVID Protocols \n\n\n\nDue to COVID-19\, masks are mandatory when you cannot maintain safe social distancing. We have also had to limit the number of participants.
