SUMMARY:Biomechanics for Biking Clinic with NWTA and Trek Beaverton - 12/12
DESCRIPTION:Join Northwest Trail Alliance and Trek Beaverton for a clinic on proper biomechanics while riding. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHave you ever felt discomfort or even pain during or after biking? It turns out that accurate bike fitting (adjusting how your body connects with your bike) and proper biomechanics (the way you position your body on the bike while riding) can make or break your time in the saddle. Numb fingers\, aching shoulders\, and sore feet can all be addressed with a little attention to these important topics. Join us for a discussion on bike fitting and biomechanics.

SUMMARY:Tour of Active Harvest Operations @ Tualatin Mountain Forest (Rocky Point) - 4/17
DESCRIPTION:Tour of Active Harvest Operations – Research Forest Education Day \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin OSU Forestry Extension\, OSU Research Forests and NWTA for an education tour of active harvest operations on the Tualatin Mountain Research Forest. \n\n\n\nNorthwest Trail Alliance is excited to partner with Oregon State University for a unique\, behind-the-scenes educational opportunity on recently acquired forest land. \n\n\n\nThis property\, formerly owned by Weyerhaeuser\, is now owned by OSU and managed as a Research Forest. For years\, NWTA held a lease on this land and built a well-loved trail system that has become deeply valued by the local community. With this transition to public ownership\, active forest management will look different — guided by research\, long-term stewardship\, and education. \n\n\n\nOSU has proven to be a thoughtful and collaborative partner\, and we’re excited to begin a series of educational opportunities starting with a guided Tour of Active Harvest Operations. \n\n\n\nThis tour will provide: \n\n\n\n\nInsight into how harvest operations function within a Research Forest\n\n\n\nA look at how land management decisions are made\n\n\n\nA better understanding of how recreation and forestry can coexist\n\n\n\nOpportunities to ask questions and build relationships with OSU staff\n\n\n\n\nThis is a great opportunity for trail stewards\, riders\, and community members who are invested in the future of this property. \n\n\n\nCome prepared: \n\n\n\n\nWarm layers\n\n\n\nRain jacket\n\n\n\nClosed toed shoes\n\n\n\nWater/Snacks/Lunch\n\n\n\nHard Hats will be provided\n\n\n\n\nHave questions?
