SUMMARY:DIG DAY — Stub Stewart – 12/2
DESCRIPTION:Trail work in the MTB area. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nCome join us for a fun-filled day of digging and exploring at Stub Stewart State Park! This in-person event is perfect for nature enthusiasts\, families\, and anyone who loves the smell of freshly dug dirt.  \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a seasoned digger or a first-timer\, our experienced leads will be there to assist you throughout the day.  \n\n\n\n10am – 2pm  \n\n\n\nMeet at the far end of the Hill Top Parking lot. If you don’t have a day pass\, you will need to purchase one for $5 at the kiosk near the restrooms. \n\n\n\nTrail work will last approximately 4 hours\, wrapping up at 2:00. We will have food and beer afterwards. \n\n\n\nWhat To Bring: \n\n\n\nWork clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\nJacket (be prepared) \n\n\n\nHard hat or bike helmet (mandatory) \n\n\n\nWater \n\n\n\nSnacks \n\n\n\nSafety meeting promptly starts at 10 am. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure that you are adequately checked in. We work in all weather\, so come prepared for the elements\, whatever they may be (and change of clothes in the car for when we finish). \n\n\n\nWe will carpool back into the MTB area and hike a short distance from there. \n\n\n\nOnce registered\, please sign the waiver HERE \n\n\n\nEmail stubstewart@nw-trail.org with any questions \n\n\n\nFix draining issues on Lower Shoofly.

DESCRIPTION:NWTA’s Trail Sustainability Institute will be hosting Trail School: Fundamentals at Stub Stewart State Park. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nTrail School teaches the fundamental skills needed to maintain our trails. Participants will be learning safety techniques and tool identification/uses\, as well as hands-on training of corridor clearing\, drainage\, tread repair and benchwork. \n\n\n\nNorthwest Trail Alliance’s Trail Sustainability Institute’s goal is to foster a culture of land stewardship within the mountain bike community. By training people to build sustainable trails\, and by training people to lead crews of trail builders\, we are raising the level of our own stewardship\, and increasing our capacity to build and maintain quality trails. \n\n\n\nOnce registered\, please sign the waiver HERE \n\n\n\nWhat to wear: \n\n\n\n– Work clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\n– Jacket (be prepared) \n\n\n\n– Hard hat or bike helmet (mandatory) \n\n\n\n– Gloves \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\n\n\n– Water \n\n\n\n– Snacks \n\n\n\n– Lunch \n\n\n\nA $5 day use parking pass is required\, and can be purchased at the Hilltop Day Use Parking Lot where we are meeting (on the far end). We will be carpooling from there. \n\n\n\nSTART time is 10am. Please have yourself and your gear ready by that time. You may find it helpful to arrive 15 minutes early. \n\n\n\n* COMMITMENT* We understand life happens\, if you are unable to attend\, please let us know AT LEAST 24 hours in advance.
