SUMMARY:Stub Trail Restoration Day - 1/3
DESCRIPTION:We will be working on restoring trails in the MTB core area. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin us for a community effort to restore our beloved mountain bike trails impacted by a recent forest thinning project aimed at improving forest health. Together\, we’ll work to repair and enhance the trails to ensure they’re safe\, sustainable\, and ready for riders again. \n\n\n\nThis restoration effort will be flexible\, as we’ll adapt our work to the unique challenges presented by the thinning project. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome—whether you’re a seasoned trail builder or new to trail work\, there’s a role for you! \n\n\n\n10am – 3pm \n\n\n\nMeet at the far end of the Hilltop Day Use Area \n\n\n\nTrail work will last approximately 5 hours\, wrapping up at 3:00. \n\n\n\nNOTE: Due to the possibility of snow and icy roads\, an email will be sent out the morning of the event stating if it is cancelled or not. \n\n\n\nWhat To Bring: \n\n\n\nWork clothes: Weather appropriate coat/jacket. Long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\nHard hat or bike helmet (mandatory) \n\n\n\nWater \n\n\n\nSnacks/Lunch \n\n\n\nBike – Bring your bike and ride back to the area where we will be working. We will also have a couple of carpool spots available. \n\n\n\nSafety meeting promptly starts at 10 am. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure that you are adequately checked in. We work in all weather\, so come prepared for the elements\, whatever they may be (and change of clothes in the car for when we finish). \n\n\n\nOnce registered\, please sign the waiver HERE \n\n\n\nEmail stubstewart@nw-trail.org with any questions

SUMMARY:Trail Sisters x TSI Training Series at Stub Stewart - 1/11
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the third and final installment of the NW Trail Sisters’ Trail Building Training Series back at Stub Stewart! \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nSponsored by River City Bicycles \n\n\n\nJoin us at Stub Stewart along with our friends and generous sponsor River City Bicyles for the third and final installment of the NW Trail Sisters Training Series where we will be continuing what we started in the skills zone. \n\n\n\nThis outdoor education series is made possible through a generous grant from Travel Oregon. \n\n\n\nWhat are we doing?: The day will involve hands-on practice building drops\, jumps\, and berms. (Subject to change slightly depending on conditions.) \n\n\n\nWhat is this “training series?”: The series is a set of dig days dedicated to building skills and confidence. We have three dig days scheduled at multiple locations where Trail Sisters crew leads alongside Local Stewardship Teams will cover the technical aspects of trail building and sustainable maintenance in a fun and supportive environment. \n\n\n\nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\n\nWarm clothing and extra layers.\n\n\n\nRain jacket (and rain pants if you have them and the weather calls for it): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain\, but that doesn’t stop us from digging!\n\n\n\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck! We have extras if needed.\n\n\n\nSturdy shoes\n\n\n\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\n\n\n\nEye protection\n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks and lunch\n\n\n\nBike and bike gear for post-dig rips\n\n\n\nAppetite for food provided by our dear friends at River City Bicycles!\n\n\n\n\nAny necessary tools will be provided. You are not required to bring any of your own. \n\n\n\nMore specific details about the event will be emailed to those who signed up closer to the date. \n\n\n\nThese events are very popular and sell out quickly. If you are unable to attend for any reason\, please cancel your registration with AT LEAST 24 hours notice so others on the waitlist have an opportunity to come. If you are reading this and the event is sold out\, join the waitlist! A few folks will likely cancel the day before. \n\n\n\nJoin NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. If the cost of membership creates a financial hardship\, please reach out to us\, we can help with that barrier. \n\n\n\nQuestions? Send them over to Carrie at carriej@nw-trail.org
