DESCRIPTION:Join us in continuing our work on the new skills zone at Stub Stewart! \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhat are we doing?: The day will involve dialing in our 3 downhill lines and possibly starting work on a return/climb trail. The day will mainly involve raking debris\, shaping berms\, smoothing out rough sections\, building features\, looking at drainage\, and testing lines. \n\n\n\nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\n\nWarm clothing and extra layers.\n\n\n\nRain jacket (and rain pants if you have them and the weather calls for it): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain\, but that doesn’t stop us from digging!\n\n\n\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck! We have extras if needed.\n\n\n\nSturdy shoes\n\n\n\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\n\n\n\nEye protection\n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks and lunch\n\n\n\nBike and bike gear for post-dig rips\n\n\n\n\nAny necessary tools will be provided. You are not required to bring any of your own. \n\n\n\nMore specific details about the event will be emailed to those who signed up closer to the date. \n\n\n\nThese events are very popular and sell out quickly. If you are unable to attend for any reason\, please cancel your registration with AT LEAST 24 hours notice so others on the waitlist have an opportunity to come. If you are reading this and the event is sold out\, join the waitlist! A few folks will likely cancel the day before. \n\n\n\nJoin NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. Topics include: \n\n\n\n\nThe importance of carbs\, protein\, and fats. And how to adjust your macros for different training days\n\n\n\nNutrient timing: what to eat pre\, during\, and post exercise\, with examples\n\n\n\nHydration\n\n\n\nTips to optimize performance: energy availability\, carbohydrate timing\, labwork\, and supplements\n\n\n\nHow fueling off the bike is just as important as on the bike.\n\n\n\nWhat does your relationship with food look like?\n\n\n\nFood celebration! Food is not meant to be feared but celebrated in its entirety.\n\n\n\nInside the kitchen: Make it fun!\n\n\n\n\nCost is only $30 and you will receive handouts\, recipe books\, samples\, free consultations with Kris and Kort\, and a chance to win some valuable wellness raffle prizes. \n\n\n\nThis event will likely sell out. Your ride leaders will meet you there\, go over bike safety\, talk about route options\, and show you around! \n\n\n\nNote this is not a clinic\, just an opportunity to come together and ride with other women who are just getting into mountain biking.  \n\n\n\nThere will be at least 300 feet of climbing on a paved road.
