DESCRIPTION:Part of the GOOD DIRT 2025 – The RCB/NWTA Ride Series collection. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nThese are trail rides–requiring a modern trail-capable mountain bike and some trail riding experience–that participants love for the opportunity to meet at the trailhead\, be greeted by River City Bicycles and Northwest Trail Alliance\, learn about the trail systems from the folks who know them best\, and have good times riding in a social group ride format. \n\n\n\nAfter riding\, we wrap things up socially with a tailgate grill sesh or picnic provided by River City Bicycles. \n\n\n\n— \n\n\n\n“modern trail-capable mountain bikes” – recreational or enthusiast-grade mountain bikes featuring larger volume knobby tires\, suspension\, disc brakes\, dropper-posts\, etc. \n\n\n\n“some trail riding experience” – We intend for these trail rides to be open to riders of varying ability levels\, but to be prepared\, riders should be fairly comfortable on their bikes and ready to advance from beginner trails—like those found at Gateway Green—to those found at the larger trail systems we’ll be touring.

DESCRIPTION:Join NWTA and Oregon Parks & Recreation Dept (OPRD) resident Archaeologist\, Nancy Nelson\, for an afternoon of archaeology training. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nNWTA is proud to partner with Oregon Parks & Recreation Dept (OPRD) Valley Region Archaeologist\, Nancy Nelson\, will provide a presentation on the archaeological sites\, artifacts and features that may be discovered during project work. In addition\, OPRD’s work with the nine Tribes in Oregon and inadvertent discovery protocols will be discussed. The afternoon training will conclude with a site visit to a historic archaeological site within the park. \n\n\n\nThis training will take place at LL Stub Stewart State Park in the Mountain Dale Meeting Hall. Parking is limited at the meeting hall\, please consider parking at the Hilltop Day Use Area and taking the trail down to the meeting hall. Parking passes will be provided for the day.  \n\n\n\nAlthough most of the training will be indoors\, we will be hiking to an archeology site during the training. Please come prepared with boots/sturdy shoes and forecast appropriate clothing.  \n\n\n\nDrinks and light snacks will be provided.  \n\n\n\nSpace is limited for this specialty event. DESCRIPTION:If you are riding a mountain bike\, you are an athlete—fuel like one. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis is an event for women looking for ways to improve performance\, health\, and energy on and off the bike. \n\n\n\nHear from fellow trail sisters\, Dr. Kortnee Dillon and Functional Nutrition Practitioner Kristin Stevens. Topics include: \n\n\n\n\nThe importance of carbs\, protein\, and fats. And how to adjust your macros for different training days\n\n\n\nNutrient timing: what to eat pre\, during\, and post exercise\, with examples\n\n\n\nHydration\n\n\n\nTips to optimize performance: energy availability\, carbohydrate timing\, labwork\, and supplements\n\n\n\nHow fueling off the bike is just as important as on the bike.\n\n\n\nWhat does your relationship with food look like?\n\n\n\nFood celebration! Food is not meant to be feared but celebrated in its entirety.\n\n\n\nInside the kitchen: Make it fun!\n\n\n\n\nCost is only $30 and you will receive handouts\, recipe books\, samples\, free consultations with Kris and Kort\, and a chance to win some valuable wellness raffle prizes. \n\n\n\nThis event will likely sell out. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Earth Day with NWTA at Rocky Point in Scappoose. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin us while we do our part to clean up our corner of the planet. On Sunday\, April 12th we will be picking up the trash alongside Rocky Point Rd in Scappoose. Our objective will be to remove trash from the roadside that we bike on\, be good neighbors to those who share this area with us\, and be better stewards of our planet. \n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, April 12th from 9:30 to 1:00 \n\n\n\nWhere: Rocky Point Central Trailhead (45.696324\, -122.888672). We will be meeting at the kiosk at the main trailhead on the south side. Have yourself and gear ready to go by 9:30. We recommend showing up early to ensure we respect each other’s time. \n\n\n\nWho: You! Our NWTA community is invited to join us in giving back to our planet. \n\n\n\nWhat (to bring): Bright clothes! We will be roadside\, make sure you are highly visible. Gloves and sturdy shoes. Bring plenty of snacks and water. Garbage bags and pickers will be provided. Prizes for the most Twisted Tea cans and Fireball bottles retrieved! \n\n\n\nWhy: It is important to NWTA to be good stewards of our environment and the places where we recreate.
