Cost: $40 donation to NWTA (scholarships available email elaine.b@elainebbikes.com) \n\n\n\nDrop off & Pick up location: Gateway Fred Meyer Parking Lot\, Corner of NE 99th & NE Pacific  \n\n\n\nEvent Location: Gateway Green  \n\n\n\nRequired Gear:  \n\n\n\n– A mountain bike in good working condition. We have a limited amount of Trek bikes to loan. Please add your rider’s height information when registering. \n\n\n\n– A properly fitting helmet in good condition and is less than 5 years old* (Loaners available) \n\n\n\n– Water bottle and snacks \n\n\n\n– Clothing appropriate for the weather \n\n\n\n– Pack to carry layers\, snacks\, and water \n\n\n\nRecommended Gear: \n\n\n\n– Full Fingered Gloves \n\n\n\n– Knee and elbow protection \n\n\n\n– Eye protectionIntermediate \n\n\n\nParticipants should have their own water\, wear layers appropriate for the weather\, and have a backpack to take with them to the park. No items will stay at the drop-off site.  \n\n\n\nWe will ride if it is lightly raining but may cancel if it is heavy rain. Watch your emails by noon the day of the class. Rider Experience: Intermediate/Advanced with at least 2-4 years of riding on dirt trails  \n\n\n\nThese riders are already comfortable riding a bike on “Blue” and may be riding parts of more technical “Black” trails\, and over most of whatever features come along\, 8-12” high\, at least downhill. They can stand and coast confidently on even pedals for entire sections of the trail\, and they can shift gears and corner comfortably. They may be starting to jump and land on top of tables\, and they are interested in dropping features up to 12-14” high\, learning to ride pump tracks or rolling terrain faster\, without pedaling. They can easily ride 2-4 miles or more on a trail or bike path. \n\n\n\nDuring this class: these riders will continue to improve their balance over varying and more technical terrain\, brake and corner even quicker\, and shift before it’s too late. They’ll learn to climb\, descend and ride both faster and more slowly with confidence. They’ll have fun riding technical roll downs and drops 10-14” high. The wheels will leave the ground in this class\, after all\, Dragons are learning to clear jumps! \n\n\n\nBike: A Flying Dragon’s bike has platform pedals\, two-hand brakes\, a seat that can move up and down\, and is in good working condition. Single speeds are OK but a bike with gears will be more fun on the climbs. No coaster brakes\, kickstands\, baskets\, or fenders. A Dragon’s helmet fits properly\, is in good condition\, and is less than 5 years old \n\n\n\nQuestions? SUMMARY:Trail Sister's Guided Falls Creek with Team Metropolis - 9/18
DESCRIPTION:Join NWTA’s Trail Sister’s & Team Metropolis for a guided ride on the spectacular Falls Creek trail. \n\n\n\n\nregister\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nJoin the femmes of Team Metropolis for a day in the Gifford Pinchot to experience this gem of a Washington trail. We will shuttle to Oldman Pass\, connecting to McLellen Meadows and then to Falls Creek Trail\, dividing into two groups based on ability and fitness. Both groups will have the opportunity to session technical parts of the climbs and descents. There are many great snacking spots with a view. We might even stop to enjoy some of the lava tubes off the trail. Bring your sense of adventure and join us for a day on the trail!  \n\n\n\nThis Intermediate to Advanced skill level ride is for Trail Sisters- (cis & trans) and non-binary. It is 23 miles and 1500 feet of technical and punchy climbing; descending is technical with roots and rocks and some exposure; expect to be on the trail for 5 hours. \n\n\n\nPlease assess your riding skills honestly. This ride requires fitness and technical skills. The trails we will ride are rated blue on Trailforks. Join us for a no-drop (no rider left behind) guided tour of the Mollala River Trails. This ride is for aerobically and technically strong Intermediate (and up to Advanced) riders. The trails are a mix of smooth and slight technical riding with some limited more technical rock and root gardens\, as well as short and strenuous climbs.
